1908 - 1989

Bette Davis.spacerBorn Ruth Elizabeth Davis on April 5th. 1908 in Lowell, Massachusetts, she failed her first screen test with Goldwyn but passed with the next for Universal.

 Bette Davis.spacerDuring her sixty year career she made over eighty films. She received ten Academy Award nominations, and won Best Actress Oscar twice. In 1977 she became the first woman to receive the American Film Institute's Lifetime Achievement Award.

Bette married four times and had three children. She died in Paris, France on October 6th. 1989 from breast cancer. Her body is interred at Forest Lawn, Los Angeles.
