Born
Cherilyn Sarkisian LaPierre on May 20th. 1946 in El Centro,
California, her career started to take off in the 1960s with
her first husband Sonny Bono with hits like, "I've Got You
Babe". Although Sonny & Cher became very popular with numerous
television shows, Cher was destined to make it alone.
Sonny and Cher divorced in 1975. They had a daughter,
Chastity.
Cher married Gregg Allman later in 1975. They had a son,
Elijah Blue, before this marriage too,
ended
in divorce in 1978.
The seventies were not a great time for Cher, but in the
eighties important roles in a whole host of Hollywood Movies,
"Mask" / "Moonstruck" / "Witches Of Eastwick" etc. started her
career moving again.
Cher has for long been a great favourite with the gay
community who will bop 'til they drop with the strains of
"It's In His Kiss", or "Believe", still ringing in their ears.
