Born
Frances Gumm on June 10th.1922 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, she
was already performing (with her two older sisters) in
Vaudeville by the age of three. When her sisters left the act
she carried on alone, now adopting the name Judy Garland. She
was just thirteen when she signed a contract with MGM.
Liza Minnelli, her daughter, was born in 1946.
Judy appeared in thirty-six movies (that I can find) before
her untimely death on June 22nd. 1969, officially through an
accidental overdose of sleeping pills. There are those who
suspect anorexia was the true cause.
