KEEPING UP APPEARANCES

The Blackpool Combined Association
BANQUET AND BALL
held at the CLIFFS HOTEL, North Promenade
on Wednesday 9th January 2008
IN AID OF THE BLACKPOOL ILLUMINATIONS FUND

Sponsored by: CLASSIC DRINKS LTD., the 6.15pm expected
Wine Tasting Reception turned out to be generous free spirits.

Everyone eagerly partook in this, and by the time we were called
to the Dining Room there were many ready to do a turn!

Gay Hoteliers were represented by both BAGs and non-BAGs
members and associates who readily joined in
to help make the evening a success.

If I hadn't had known that this cheeky chappie was Dennis
I would have sworn they had dug up Billy Cotton. (Who?)

WAKEY WAKEY!

Overlooked by the dignitaries at the top table . . .

a motley crowd took their places . . .

. . . and it was soon obvious . . .

. . . several of the tables sported a Hyacinth (or two).

To be eating was no excuse not to part with money.

For the sake of the illuminations, many a pocket was emptied.

No-one was spared.

The Mayor and Mayoress of Blackpool . . .

Councillor Robert Edmund Wynne and his wife Gaynor
were in good spirit - as were we all!

Brian (Chaucer House) has written:

A Great Night!

An enlightening fact learned on the night:
The illuminations last year cost Blackpool £1.8 million
and earned the resort some £260 million in tourism.
